The energy of a revolving electron in Bohr’s atomic model is the total of its kinetic and potential energy while moving in a fixed orbit around the nucleus. It is given by:
Eₙ = – 13.6 eV / n²
where n is the orbit number. The negative sign shows the electron is bound to the nucleus. Energy becomes less negative as n increases, meaning electrons in higher orbits have higher energy.
