اسلام: ایک دینِ کامل اور آخری ضابطہ حیات
اسلام محض چند رسومات کا مجموعہ نہیں بلکہ ایک مکمل ضابطہ حیات ہے جو انسانی زندگی کے تمام پہلوؤں کا احاطہ کرتا ہے. اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس دین کو کمال اور اختتام تک پہنچا دیا ہے، جس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ اب رہتی دنیا تک انسانیت کی فلاح اسی نظامِ زندگی میں پوشیدہ ہے. یہ دین انسانی فطرت کے عین مطابق ہے اور انفرادی زندگی سے لے کر اجتماعی و ریاستی معاملات تک ہر جگہ رہنمائی فراہم کرتا ہے. اس کی کاملیت کا تقاضا ہے کہ اسے ہر دور کے تقاضوں کے مطابق نافذ العمل سمجھا جائے کیونکہ اس کے اصول آفاقی اور ابدی ہیں.
خالص توحید کا علمبردار
اسلام کی بنیاد خالص توحید پر ہے، جو اس بات کا اعلان ہے کہ کائنات کا خالق، مالک اور رازق صرف اللہ ہے. قرآن مجید میں اس عظیم سچائی کو یوں بیان کیا گیا ہے:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ
ترجمہ: “آپ سے پہلے ہم نے جو بھی رسول بھیجا اسے یہی وحی کی کہ میرے سوا اور کوئی معبود نہیں لہٰذا تم سب میری ہی عبادت کرو.”
توحید کا یہ تصور انسانیت کو شرک کی غلامی اور توہم پرستی سے نجات دلا کر صرف ایک رب کے سامنے سرنگوں کرتا ہے. تاریخی اعتبار سے انبیاء کی بعثت کا اصل مقصد ہی اسی عقیدہ توحید کی بحالی تھا تاکہ انسان اپنے اصل مقام کو پہچان سکے اور دنیا کی وحدت کو اللہ کی حاکمیت کے تحت سمجھ سکے.
دین و دنیا کی وحدت اور رہبانیت کی نفی
اسلام دنیا اور آخرت کے درمیان ایک حسین توازن قائم کرتا ہے. یہ دیگر مذاہب کے برعکس ترکِ دنیا یا رہبانیت کی حوصلہ شکنی کرتا ہے اور انسان کو معاشرے کا ایک فعال حصہ بننے کی ترغیب دیتا ہے. جیسا کہ حدیث نبویؐ میں واضح کیا گیا ہے:
“لا رهبانية في الاسلام”
ترجمہ: “اسلام میں رہبانیت (دنیا کو چھوڑ کر جنگلوں میں بسنا) نہیں ہے.”
یہ تعلیم ہمیں سکھاتی ہے کہ حقوق اللہ کے ساتھ ساتھ حقوق العباد کی ادائیگی بھی لازم ہے. ایک مومن وہ ہے جو دنیا کے معاملات میں بھرپور حصہ لے مگر اس کا دل اللہ کی یاد سے غافل نہ ہو.
قرآن مجید کی محفوظیت
اسلام کا ایک نمایاں پہلو اس کی بنیادی کتاب، قرآن مجید کی حفاظت ہے. اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کتاب کی حفاظت کا ذمہ خود لیا ہے، جس کی وجہ سے یہ چودہ سو سال گزرنے کے باوجود اپنی اصل حالت میں موجود ہے. قرآن مجید میں ارشاد باری تعالیٰ ہے:
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
ترجمہ: “بے شک ہم ہی اس کے نازل کرنے والے ہیں اور ہم ہی اس کے محافظ ہیں.”
یہ محفوظیت اس بات کی دلیل ہے کہ اسلام ایک زندہ جاوید دین ہے جس کے مصادر میں کوئی تبدیلی یا تحریف ممکن نہیں ہے.
اخلاقِ حسنہ کا جامع نظام
اسلامی نظام میں اخلاقیات کو مرکزی حیثیت حاصل ہے. یہ دین نہ صرف عبادات پر زور دیتا ہے بلکہ معاملات اور کردار کی پاکیزگی کو بھی لازمی قرار دیتا ہے. برائیوں کے سدِ باب کے لیے اسلام نے سخت احکامات دیے ہیں، مثلاً زنا کے بارے میں قرآن فرماتا ہے:
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَىٰ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا
ترجمہ: “اور تم زنا کے قریب بھی نہ جاؤ، یہ کھلی بے حیائی اور بہت برا راستہ ہے.”
اخلاقی تعمیر میں صبر اور شکر کو بنیادی ستون قرار دیا گیا ہے. امام احمد بن حنبلؒ کے حوالے سے یہ بات منقول ہے کہ:
عملی زندگی اور محنت کی عظمت
اسلام محض دعاؤں یا خیالی فلسفوں کا نام نہیں بلکہ یہ ایک عملی دین ہے جو انسان کو محنت اور جدوجہد پر اکساتا ہے. قرآن مجید محنت کی اہمیت کو ان الفاظ میں واضح کرتا ہے:
وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
ترجمہ: “انسان کے لیے وہی ہے جس کی اس نے کوشش کی.”
یہ نظریہ اسلام کو ایک متحرک دین بناتا ہے جہاں کامیابی کا دارومدار عملِ پیہم پر ہے.
اسلامی اخوت اور عالمگیر بھائی چارہ
اسلامی معاشرے کی بنیاد اخوت اور بھائی چارے پر رکھی گئی ہے. یہ ایسا رشتہ ہے جو نسل، زبان اور جغرافیائی حدود سے بالاتر ہے. شاعرِ مشرق نے اس اخوت کی ترجمانی کچھ یوں کی ہے:
اخوت اس کو کہتے ہیں چبے کانٹا جو کابل میں
ہندوستان کا ہر پیر و جواں بے تاب ہو جائے
یہ اخوت محض ایک جذباتی تعلق نہیں بلکہ ایک قانونی اور معاشرتی ذمہ داری ہے جہاں ایک مسلمان دوسرے مسلمان کا آئینہ اور مددگار ہوتا ہے.
محبت اور رحمت کی تقسیم
اسلام محبت اور شفقت کا دین ہے. یہ اپنے پیروکاروں کو نہ صرف انسانوں بلکہ تمام مخلوقات کے ساتھ نرمی کا حکم دیتا ہے. حدیث مبارکہ میں ہے:
“ارحموا من في الارض يرحمكم من في السماء”
ترجمہ: “تم اہل زمین پر رحم کرو، اللہ تم پر رحم کرے گا.”
کرو مہربانی تم اہل زمین پر
خدا مہربان ہو گا عرش بریں پر
مساوات اور انسانی حقوق
اسلامی نظام میں تمام انسان برابر ہیں اور کسی کو کسی پر فوقیت حاصل نہیں مگر تقویٰ کی بنیاد پر. اسلام نے مسجدوں اور قبرستانوں میں امیر و غریب کے فرق کو مٹا کر حقیقی مساوات قائم کی ہے. علامہ اقبال اس منظر کی عکاسی کرتے ہوئے فرماتے ہیں:
بندہ و صاحب و محتاج و غنی ایک ہوئے
تیری سرکار میں پہنچے تو سبھی ایک ہوئے
خطبہ حجتہ الوداع کے موقع پر نبی کریمؐ نے اس آفاقی سچائی کا اعلان فرمایا کہ:
یہ اصول دورِ حاضر میں انسانی حقوق اور جمہوریت کی بنیاد فراہم کرتا ہے جہاں حقِ رائے دہی اور سماجی انصاف کی ضمانت دی گئی ہے.
امن و آشتی کا گہوارہ
لفظ ‘اسلام’ کے معنی ہی سلامتی اور امن کے ہیں. یہ دین معاشرے میں امن برقرار رکھنے کے لیے چوری، چغلی، جھگڑے، قتال اور تلخ کلامی جیسی برائیوں کی سختی سے ممانعت کرتا ہے. اسلام عدل و انصاف کے ذریعے امن کا درس دیتا ہے. قرآن مجید میں روزِ قیامت کے عدل کے حوالے سے ارشاد ہے:
فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
ترجمہ: “پس آج کسی شخص پر کچھ بھی ظلم نہ کیا جائے گا اور تمہیں بدلہ نہیں دیا جائے گا مگر صرف ان ہی کاموں کا جو تم کرتے تھے.”
یہ تصور کہ ہر عمل کا جوابدہ ہونا پڑے گا، انسان کو ظلم سے روکتا ہے اور معاشرے میں دیرپا امن کی بنیاد رکھتا ہے.

Islam: A Perfect and Final Code of Life
Islam is not merely a collection of a few rituals but a complete code of life that encompasses all aspects of human life. Allah Almighty has perfected and completed this religion, meaning that the welfare of humanity for all time to come lies hidden in this very system of life. This religion is in complete accordance with human nature and provides guidance everywhere from individual life to collective and state affairs. Its perfection demands that it be considered applicable according to the requirements of every era because its principles are universal and eternal.
The Bearer of Pure Monotheism
The foundation of Islam is pure monotheism, which is the declaration that the Creator, Owner, and Sustainer of the universe is only Allah. The Holy Quran expresses this great truth as follows:
Wa ma arsalna min qablika min rasoolin illa noohee ilayhi annahu la ilaha illa ana fa’budoon
Translation: “And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that there is no deity except Me, so worship Me.”
This concept of monotheism liberates humanity from the slavery of polytheism and superstition and makes them prostrate only before one Lord. Historically, the main purpose of the sending of prophets was the restoration of this very belief of monotheism, so that man could recognize his true status and understand the unity of the world under Allah’s sovereignty.
Unity of Religion and World and Negation of Monasticism
Islam establishes a beautiful balance between this world and the Hereafter. Unlike other religions, it discourages renunciation of the world or monasticism and encourages man to become an active part of society. As clarified in the Prophetic Hadith:
“La rahbaniyyata fil islam”
Translation: “There is no monasticism (renouncing the world and living in forests) in Islam.”
This teaching instructs us that fulfilling the rights of people is obligatory along with the rights of Allah. A believer is one who participates fully in worldly affairs but whose heart is not heedless of the remembrance of Allah.
Preservation of the Holy Quran
A distinctive aspect of Islam is the preservation of its primary book, the Holy Quran. Allah Almighty Himself has taken the responsibility of preserving this book, which is why it remains in its original state despite the passage of fourteen hundred years. Allah Almighty states in the Holy Quran:
Inna nahnu nazzalnadh dhikra wa inna lahu lahafizun
Translation: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Reminder, and indeed, We will be its guardian.”
This preservation is proof that Islam is a living and eternal religion, and no change or distortion is possible in its sources.
Comprehensive System of Good Morals
Ethics hold a central position in the Islamic system. This religion not only emphasizes worship but also deems purity of dealings and character essential. To block the path of evils, Islam has given strict commands. For example, the Quran states regarding adultery:
Wa la taqrabuz zina innahu kana fahishatan wa sa’a sabeela
Translation: “And do not go near adultery. Indeed, it is an abomination and an evil way.”
Patience and gratitude have been declared as fundamental pillars in moral construction. It is narrated regarding Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal that:
The Greatness of Practical Life and Effort
Islam is not merely the name of prayers or abstract philosophies but a practical religion that urges man to strive and struggle. The Holy Quran clarifies the importance of effort in these words:
Wa an laysa lil insani illa ma sa’a
Translation: “And that man will have nothing but what he strives for.”
This philosophy makes Islam a dynamic religion where success depends on continuous effort.
Islamic Brotherhood and Universal Fraternity
The foundation of Islamic society is laid on brotherhood and fraternity. It is a bond that transcends race, language, and geographical boundaries. The Poet of the East expressed this brotherhood as follows:
Brotherhood is called when a thorn pricks in Kabul
Every young and old in India becomes restless
This brotherhood is not merely an emotional bond but a legal and social responsibility where one Muslim is the mirror and helper of another Muslim.
Distribution of Love and Mercy
Islam is the religion of love and compassion. It commands its followers to be gentle not only with humans but with all creatures. The blessed Hadith states:
“Arhamu man fil ardi yarhamkum man fis sama”
Translation: “Be merciful to those on earth, and the One in heaven will be merciful to you.”
Show mercy to the people of the earth,
God will be merciful upon the highest throne.
Equality and Human Rights
In the Islamic system, all human beings are equal, and no one has superiority over another except on the basis of piety. Islam has established true equality by eliminating the distinction between rich and poor in mosques and cemeteries. Allama Iqbal reflects this scene saying:
Slave and master, needy and wealthy became one
When they reached your court, all became one
On the occasion of the Farewell Sermon (Khutbah Hajjatul Wida), the Noble Prophet (PBUH) declared this universal truth:
This principle provides the foundation for human rights and democracy in the contemporary era, where the right to vote and social justice are guaranteed.
The Cradle of Peace and Harmony
The word ‘Islam’ itself means peace and security. This religion strictly forbids evils such as theft, slander, quarrels, fighting, and harsh speech to maintain peace in society. Islam teaches peace through justice. Regarding the justice of the Day of Judgment, the Holy Quran states:
Fal yawma la tuzlamu nafsun shay’an wa la tujzawna illa ma kuntum ta’malun
Translation: “So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do.”
This concept that every action will be held accountable prevents man from oppression and establishes the foundation of lasting peace in society.
